Here’s hoping Gideon doesn’t lose another person that’s precious to him…

Gideon, unless you grow wings, you’re never going to save him in time. Not before the eruption column collapses under its weight and drops a 1000C pyroclastic surge that buries everything for miles.

Whoops, meant to say 550C (~1000F), though incineration is still incineration no matter how high you dial the oven.

As you’ve got miles to run (hours of travel time), he may be stubborn and not want to leave, and even if he does he’s blind which means the miles back to town (which doesn’t escape the volcano) is many more hours than the time it took to get to him.

Bad situation indeed!
