Just read the whole comic. Art is nice, fairy tale thing is done well enough. I like Willow, a bit insecure, cares about people too much for her own good, determined.
I don’t really understand the widespread tolerance for Gideon, he seems to take every opportunity that arises to be a slimy jerk. I hope he gets either some more character development or a solid thwack to the back of the head soon(tragic backstories count neither as character development nor as justification).
The smaller stories for each chapter have so far failed to have much impact on me. The characters don’t stick around long enough for me to care much, and they both wrapped themselves up very neatly. Everything just came to a happy conclusion, through a sequence of unplanned events. It clashes a bit with the overall story.
The format reminds me a bit of Kino’s Journey. They were not her stories, she is just passing through. This suffers from many of the same weaknesses, in that short episodic stories make good characterization very difficult. As a result, short stories often rely on either solidly established tropes to get the ideas across quickly, or a novel idea to make the story interesting. In a comic based around folk tales, the former is inevitable and the latter is rather difficult. I’m honestly a bit surprised that it worked as well as it did in this comic.
The comic works well read large chunks, I’m not sure how well it will hold up when read as it updates. All in all, I enjoyed it, keep up the good work.

(And yes, Gideon will have more character development. The point you make about tragic backstories not being justification was pointed out by Willow in Came a Harper, pretty much for that very reason.)

Does this comic ever actually update on time? Not a really pressing issue but kind of a pet peeve since the story progresses so slowly anyway and it’s a little disappointing to check in and see the last update on the 1st (a Friday) and now it’s the 7th (Thursday) with still no update. Maybe think about changing the front page to say “updates twice a week” since it hasn’t seemed to actually hit the “Monday/Thursday” specificity lately.

We meant to put out a announcement about this week, but I forgot, my bad. We are doing two pages (hopefully today) as this week was the end of Ramadan and Aimo had a lot of family things to do. Apologies. Life gets in the way, as it does.
