A kiss on the forehead, like in the story, only the mermaid hasn’t turned to sea foam. She’s made her decision. She put up with it when it was only her, but now seeing him treat his wife like that, she’s not gonna let him get away with it!

Visual narrative wise, this has got to be one of the best pieces I’ve ever seen. The sheer cold blood determination she communicates with that one look and a kiss are honestly a bit horrifying.
